Garden Care
Place the seeds on the surface of a good free-draining, damp, seed compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Seal the container inside a polythene bag and place at 15-20C or use a heated mat. Germination can take 1 to 4 months, but is often quicker. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination.
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots. Grow on in cooler conditions for 10 to 15 days before planting out after risk of fros has passed/ Plant 60cm apart. Plants may prove hardy if wet winter conditions are avoided but are most often grown as an annual.
